Aspen Alps / Aspen, CO

Certified Healthy Workplace™

Why is the health and safety of your employees important to you?
Feeling Healthy makes a big difference in my day to day work, and being able to raise a family and work as a Mom is important to me. I like to broaden that perspective to the employees to make sure that we have staff that feels healthy, happy, and safe at their workplace.

What does your workplace health and safety program look like? Do you offer both components to employees?
The Aspen Alps has lots to offer to their employees, like health insurance options, paid time off, stand-up desks, ski pass, or bus pass.
Safety continues to be incorporated safety on a weekly basis with our Safety Bingo game with a prize as an incentive.
Expanding this program to all levels of employees would be the goal.

How will you/do you know your program is successful?
When we are able to offer a health and safety program for all employees at the Aspen Alps and are getting feedback that that feeling is shared by our employees.

What obstacles did you have to overcome to get your program started? How did you overcome them?
Getting the voice of all employees was accomplished by getting a survey out to our employees with a great return rate. We understand what they would like to see happen and now we are working towards that goal.

What tip/advice would you give to a business that is considering starting a workplace health and safety program?
Start with Health Links and take it one step at a time. The guidance from Health Links is amazing and they are there every step of the way. Just stay creative and your program will evolve.

Could we provide other Health Links businesses with your contact information if they are interested in connecting and sharing ideas?
Yes
