VIVE Float Studio / Frisco, CO

Certified Partners

Health Links (HL): Why is the health and safety of your employees important to you?

VIVE Float Studio (VFS): Much of my (Andi Sigler, Owner) adult life was spent in corporate America where the bottom line was the focus. When Andi Sigler, the owner of VIVE, decided to open it was with a vision to create an environment where the personal and professional health and wellness of her colleagues was equally valued as the health and wellness of their clients. While the client keeps their doors open it is the presence of their team that keeps them coming through the calm, clean and curative doors.

HL: What does your workplace health and safety program look like? Do you offer both components to employees?

VFS: VIVE offers the following health and safety program: all employees are able to float at no cost, all employees' spouses/partners are able to float at $35.00, all employees' immediate family (parents, brothers, sisters and in-laws) can float at $53.00, all employees have access to a 25% discount on all products, as we encourage employees to utilize products that are body and earth friendly, all employees have access to a kitchen and ongoing food storage to encourage easy access to healthy meals/snacks, all employees have access to bottle-less purified water and organic teas (I hate plastic bottles), all employees, when daily assigned work is completed, are encouraged to read materials that are calming, life-giving and/or encourage physical and mental wellness, all employees, when daily assigned work is completed, are encouraged to stretch for physical and mental relief, all employees have access to The Quiet Center when needed, products utilized for float room sanitation and area cleaning are body and earth friendly, all employees have access to a safety manual for above products for knowledge and in case of emergency, employee gloves, eyewear, sandals, boots and appropriate safety clothing are provided, all employees are paid a higher than nationally required/average mountain wage to insure financial quality of life, and all employees are encouraged to find individuals or events where access to a complimentary float would be beneficial to a person/event.

HL: How will you/do you know your program is successful?

VFS: The VIVE team has utilized all the wellness perks including those available to spouses/partners and visiting family. Employee retention is 100% since opening in 2015. Since opening there have been no safety incidents/issues. Ongoing staff meetings assure knowledge of operating policies, safety procedures and the value of ongoing self-care.

HL: What obstacles did you have to overcome to get your program started? How did you overcome them?

VFS:
I am fortunate to say that I have not had any obstacles since, as the managing member, I know the value of employee personal and professional wellness to client return/bottom line.

HL: Does your health and safety program help give back to your community?

VFS: I believe it does-I believe that creating an environment where the primary vision is a person’s ‘mental and physical’ wellness with direct impact/benefits to those in our family, communities and work-place. I also believe our intentional decision to only use and sell products that are body and earth friendly will begin to raise awareness/value to this one-life/one-earth we share.

HL: What tip/advice would you give to a business that is considering starting a workplace health and safety program?

VFS: While we live in a fast paced, financially driven world, often at any cost to each other, we must remember that it is actually investing in the well-being of each other that we will increase the bottom line.  Many have said that ‘Professional Well-Being leads to Personal Well-Being’, when in recent years it has come to be that ‘Personal Well-Being leads to Professional Well-Being’. May we care for the well-being of those that stand next to us, as together, we move each other forward personally and professionally.
